Cereal, yogurt and fruit
Calcium
Your teeth and bones need
lots of calcium. You can find it in
leafy green vegetables. Do you like
sardines? Smelly, fishy sardines have
a lot of calcium! Calcium is in foods
made from milk, too. Yogurt also has a lot
of calcium.
Yogurt pops are delicious on a hot day.
To make them, mix some low-fat yogurt with fruit. Pour the
fruit and yogurt into an ice pop mold. Put it in the freezer. Soon you
will have an icy, healthy snack.
Fiber
Fiber helps food move through your body. It also makes you feel
full. Think about it. Do you feel full longer after you eat an apple, or
a bag of chips? Usually, an apple will fill you up more for a longer
time. Apples are high in
fiber. So are peas, sweet
potatoes, blueberries and
whole grains.
Check your breakfast
cereal. Is it high in fiber?
Then it can be part of
a healthy snack! For
example, you can add
some cereal to yogurt and
fruit. It adds crunch to a
quick, sweet snack.
